My cousin and I have been tracking some old Olympus-associated addresses: multisigs, deployer wallets, pOLY wallets, anything that could show some alpha or new building from someone associated. A few days ago a pOLY wallet had an inflow from Robinhood, so he tagged it to watch it more closely in case it made any other moves. For the young bucks out there: pOLY was associated with the very early investors / founding members. If this was the action of one of the few developers who would actually have had been early enough to have it at the time, that means good lore, good reputation, and a smart mind. Yesterday the wallet started deploying contracts, what appeared to be a factory contract, so we were armed and ready to go. We found the site beforehand, saw it was pretty interesting, and found the on-chain metadata before lunch. With the technical priorities behind it, it became pretty obvious this was the work of an early developer of some sort and worth taking very seriously. We decided we would be taking a sizable position. Some context for anyone who wasn't around. Olympus in 2021 was the biggest experiment in on-chain treasuries ever run: bonds pulled billions into the treasury, (3,3) paid thousands of percent APY, and OHM went well over a thousand dollars. Then the inflation caught up with it. Every rebase minted more OHM, the premium collapsed, and it drew down significantly while the treasury sat there fully intact. The lesson everyone who was there took away: the backing was real, the dilution killed it. This is the same idea with the dilution removed, no bonds, no rebases, no staking, a fixed supply that only goes down, and a treasury that grows from the market's own premium. Now look at where it's being built. Robinhood Chain has been live under three months and already did $34B in DEX volume with 12 million addresses. Tokenized stocks and ETFs are live and composable, the RWA cap has tripled since July. The stock-token supply on this chain is about to get very large, and TVL follows supply. Every dollar of it is capital looking for somewhere to sit. Treasury plays were the next step, and they're already showing up, reserves, buybacks, protocol-owned liquidity. What the chain hasn't had is a treasury token that pays you out at the treasury. This is the first one where the floor is a redemption price you can actually collect, and it came from someone who watched and contributed to the original experiment in what can easily be assumed a meaningful way. Novel mechanism: it captures speculation in a non-inflationary way instead of emitting bonds and inflation, à la Olympus. No staking, which means it's easy to hold on consumer apps like Fomo without getting hurt. RWA narrative. Fully permissionless. An always-rising floor. Would highly recommend reading the docs, checking out the site. I'll be digging in even more and staying active on my thesis from here on, but this is definitely a long-term hold for me at this point.
